Gioacchino Randazzo was born in
the suburbs of Philadelphia in 1985.
he began his studies in foundation art before he began studying ceramics. In his classes at LaSalle College High School he learned how to work with many different mediums of art. He produced many ceramic pieces during his years at school including fountains, armatures, and vases. After graduation he lost interest in fine arts for a little while pursuing other careers in acting and modeling. But, he continued to expand his imagination.
It was on his first journey to Europe where he rediscovered his love for art and expressing ideas through his artistic talents. In 2005 he took a month long trip traveling through thirteen countries and visited over twenty cities. This trip changed Gioacchino’s life. Over this time he visited many museums, which gave him a good understanding of art history and different styles of painters. But, it was when he met a modern artist Edouard De Luze, a young muralist in France who really changed his perspective of art. The ideas that Edouard put on canvas sparked so much inspiration in Gioacchino to pursue his own career in art. Edouard used canvas’ to promote his own ideas about social issues. He did not stick to a contemporary style of imagery, which was interesting to Gioacchino because he never thought about using his artistic skills to portray such ideas.
Upon Gioacchino’s return home he began to look into getting back into art. Unable to practice in ceramics, due to space and lack of a kiln, Gioacchino bought some canvases and paint. With so many ideas from his trip in Europe he got to work. He began to develop his own style of painting and let the imagery of the world he saw lay upon the canvases. He taught himself more about art through reading books and visiting more museums. Every one of Gioacchino’s paintings is a look into the world through his eyes. Enjoy and let your mind be free to view and delve into a world of endless possibilities.
